The Festival de los Patios Cordobeses is a much-anticipated event that takes place every year during the second and third week of May. Since its inception in 1921, participating
homeowners have been decorating their courtyards with colourful pots, flowers of all kinds and handmade decorative elements with the aim of winning the competition organised
by Cordoba City Council. This festival is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the vibrant culture and history of Cordoba, and it is definitely an event not to be missed!
Every year, in excess of fifty patios from Cordoba take part in the prestigious festival. The areas with most contenders are Alcázar Viejo and San Basilio. Festival organisers separate
participants into ancient and modern architecture courtyards to compare them side by side; a brilliant opportunity for visitors to explore some truly historical abodes! And this past
event's winners were C/Parras 5; C/Marroquíes 6; C/Martín de Roa 7, as well as C/Pastora 2 - all definitely worth visiting if you get the chance!
